Staff Review Of Cirque du Soleil - The Beatles LOVE

The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas couples the magic of Cirque du Soleil with the spirit and passion of the Beatles to create an intimate and powerful and entertaining experience. With Love, Cirque du Soleil celebrates the musical legacy of the Beatles through their original recordings. It is a graceful and elegant marriage of movement and song that reinforces the greatness of the music and phenomenon created by the Beatles.

As Love enters its 5th year, it embraces your inner hippie and lets loose your oppressed rebel using visual projections and world-class acrobatics mixed with the music you know and love. This unconstrained story starts at the Blitz, then moves through the band’s founding climb into superstardom and then their break-up. Love has been called a “rock ‘n’ roll poem.”

The music director for Love is none other than Sir George Martin, who is best known for his work producing the Beatles’ music. Martin’s son, Giles, is also a music director for the show. Although Cirque du Soleil Love features some well-known Beatles songs, it is not meant to be a greatest hits show. But the show does end with its namesake “All You Need is Love,” as a montage of photos of the Beatles plays on huge screens, leaving the audience with a feeling on nostalgia for a bygone era.

Each seat has three speakers built in, and the sound system is unlike any other with a total of 6,341 speakers in the theater. This makes the audience feel as though they are completely enveloped in sound. The theater also features a complex video system with 28 projectors and two 20-foot-high by 100-foot-wide screens, which add to the visual experience.

Ticket prices are $93.50 up to $150 for persons over the age of five. Children under the age of five are not permitted in the theater. Shows run nightly Friday through Monday at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Getting tickets for anything from the Mirage is real pain in the you-know-what! The “will call” line was the worst. All I can say is get in line before 4pm or you will get so disgusted wasting needless time here and probably end up walking away before you get a ticket. Hotel guests have a separate line, so if you’re staying in the hotel it’s not so bad either. Anyway, the Beatles LOVE show was excellent! If you can get tickets without too much hassle, I recommend it highly!

My wife and I went to the CdS Beatles LOVE Show and found it to be very entertaining. They played a lot of the more vibrant Beatles tunes, most of them great, some I would have replaced with better ones. Overall it was a great show and it kept my attention. That’s saying a lot because I really don’t enjoy concerts or theatrical performances, but my wife does. She loved it, I liked it, it’s a good thing :)

The Beatles Love Show was incredible, unbelievable, amazing, and all other words that a thesaurus would agree with! I can’t describe it any other way. You have to see it for yourself. It’s good for most ages too. My 16 year old daughter loved it, I (47) loved it and my wife (39) loved it. Who doesn’t love anything the Beatles? You can’t miss this show!

I knew how much my wife would love coming to this show, but I wasn’t so sure about our 10 year old daughter. Everyone loved it! I’m not sure my daughter didn’t love it more than my wife. The talent was incredible. I’m a musician myself and even I’ll admit these guys have more talent in their pinky fingers than I have anywhere! If you see only one Vegas show in your life, LOVE should be it! BTW, don’t be afraid to by the cheap back row seats – they have the most amazing view of the aerial acrobats!

I grew up during the days of the real Beatles, 100% hippie. I honestly can’t imagine anyone loving the Beatles more than I did (except maybe their wives, and even then I’m not sure haha). Going to the Beatles LOVE Show brought tears to my eyes as I was transported back in time by the lights and music. Watching the amazing trapeze acts going on all round just makes it more spectacular. I would recommend anyone go see this show, but if you can relate to my generation and love for the Beatles, you MUST see this show!

I guess I can see what so many people like about this show, but it really wasn’t my cup of tea. It was so busy. The lights, the constant movement and swinging through the air in all directions. It was just too much energy for me. If you like the high-tech effects and constant activity, you will probably like it, but I need something with a little bit slower pace that I can actually keep up with. It’s not for everyone.
