Staff Review Of Mandalay Bay
Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino is nestled right in the middle of all the action, with a tone of confident discretion rising 43 stories above the Las Vegas Strip, perfect for both business and pleasure. There aren’t many other hotels in Vegas that can match Mandalay Bay in terms of style and class. This hotel is relaxing, sophisticated, and satisfying, to say the least.
The theme at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino is casual elegance with rooms decorated in warm tones and textiles to encourage comfort and relaxation. The rooms have been recently remodeled with earthy rich wood décor that creates a modern style and ambiance. Rooms go from a 550 square feet intimate space with a view of the Strip over the 20th floor to the 2170-square-foot Media Suite with a 65" plasma television and state-of-the-art media center. While there are more than 10 rooms and suites to choose from, THEsuites are probably the best value for your money. They offer upscale accommodations dressed in clean tile, granite and marble bathrooms, and a featuring a 42" plasma television.
The Mandalay Bay Casino is a 135,000 square-foot floor set in a tropical oasis of running water, exotic foliage, and grand architectural designs full of slots, table games, and all the Vegas action you could ever need. After you visit the casino, you’ll want to partake in the many other activities available at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino. Visit the spa, spend the day shopping, or visit the Shark Reef Aquarium with the only predator-based aquarium exhibit in North America. One of the most impressive attractions at Mandalay Bay is the 11-acre Mandalay Bay Beach packed with 2,700 tons of real sand, a wave pool, three swimming pools, a lazy river, a jogging track, and a beachside casino. Rent a raft or rent a cabana, grab lunch at the Beach Bar & Grill, or go all out and rent one of five Villas Soleil that accommodate up to 16 people. If you are visiting Mandalay Bay between May and September, you can catch one of the Beach Concerts with some of the biggest shows in Vegas as you lie on the beach or drift in the surf. For guests over the age of 21, the Moorea Beach Club features a European upscale pool set to the vibe of South Beach with dipping pools, plush chaise lounges, and daybeds. Treat yourself to a poolside spa treatment while you are there.
Additionally, you may have time to visit the Bathhouse Spa, Spa Mandalay, the gym, or get married on the Shark Reef, if you are in the mood. Mandalay Bay also houses some of the best restaurants on the Strip. The menu at Mix, creation of world-renowned chef, Alain Ducasse, features French and American dishes served beneath a 24-foot chandelier with 15,000 hand-blown glass balls and aggrandized white and silver staircases. Fleur de Lys provides another experience in fine dining with the option to indulge in a three-, four-, or five-course meal, complimented by a 12,000-bottle wine loft and 30-foot walls adorned with cultured stones surrounding a floral ensemble of more than 3,000 fresh cut roses. There are eight additional world-class restaurants to choose from including the China Grill, Shanghai Lilly, rumjungle, and STRIPSTEAK.
If you’re looking for live entertainment, Mandalay Bay has something for the entire family. From live UFC events to Disney’s the Lion King Live, there’s something exciting going on every night at the 12,000-seat Events Center. There are also big-name headliners featured year-round at the House of Blues.
The bottom line on Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino is that no matter who you talk to, this hotel gets rave reviews. If you are choosing a Vegas hotel for your next trip, and you can choose any hotel on the Strip, Mandalay Bay is in the top five - you won’t be disappointed.
