Hotels on a Budget

Hotels on a Budget

Wherever there is competition, there are always good deals to be found. Budget hotels in Vegas are few and far between, but the list below will give vacationers a few great options for staying in Vegas without wiping out the wallet. Note that the bigger hotels may provide the occasional great deals, but this list provides more consistent pricing of under $100 per night.

Days Inn of Las Vegas – 1m West of Strip

Just 1 mile west of the Strip on Tropicana Ave, easily in walking distance, guests can stay at the Days Inn of Las Vegas for under $50 a night. The rates shown on the web site for a single king or double queen are only $31-$36, but that doesn’t include local taxes and surcharges or certain amenities. It isn’t gorgeous or elaborate by any means, but for anyone who just needs a comfortable place to sleep near the Strip, Days Inn is one of the best budget hotels in the area.

Royal Resort Vegas – North Strip

At the northern end of the Vegas Strip, at 99 Convention Center Drive, is Royal Resort Vegas, one of the best combinations of value and comfort in the city. The location is excellent, the rooms are affluent in design, and visitors can get a single king or double queen for just $69 a night. Royal Resort has lots of extras, like the immense outdoor pool, first-rate fitness center and lots of optional room upgrades.

Travelodge – South Strip

Travelodge is a large, comfortable hotel on the south side of the Strip with plenty of space for getting that all-important sleep. And it’s one of the very few places people can get a room for under $100 on the Strip. Single king and double queen rooms start at $65 Sunday to Thursday, and $99 Friday to Saturday, with discounts available for AAA and AARP members, seniors and military personnel. Prices may be higher on holidays.

Main Street Station – Downtown Vegas

Main Street Station Casino Brewery Hotel in downtown Las Vegas is a fantastic resort and an excellent place to stay. Guests can usually get an awesome rate so long as it’s not a holiday. The rooms are extremely cozy and offer plenty of space and amenities to relax from a day of venturing. Single room rates (king or double queen) start at just $36 per night during the week, up to $45-$70 on the weekends. Main Street loses its budget hotel quality on holidays though, jumping to $100-$110 on special weekends. Prices subject to fluctuation; booking in advance is recommended.

Gold Spike Hotel and Casino – Downtown Vegas

The Gold Spike Hotel and Casino is a great option for anyone looking to stay and play in downtown Las Vegas. The rooms are well equipped and decently priced. Booking online presents low rates of $3/night for the 18 Karat King or Double Queen, or upgrades to an Oasis Pool King for $37 and Oasis Pool Double Queen for $40. Prices may vary by season or holiday weekend. Taxes apply, which will up the total cost to by about $10-$20, but it’s well worth the location and comfort.

LVC Hotel & Casino – Fremont Street

The Las Vegas Club Hotel and Casino offers some extremely competitive rates for advance bookings. Vegas vacationers can get a room during the week for as low at just $14, or $44 on a Friday or Saturday. All the rooms are standard king and double queens, and serve as little more than a place to stop, shower and rest up for the next outing, but they do include all of the basic amenities, like television and a stocked bathroom. With at least one week’s advanced booking, visitors would be hard pressed to find a cheaper hotel located right in the middle of all the action of Fremont Street. Be warned that the noise of the thoroughfare below is quite loud, especially at night.

Best Western Main Street Inn – North of Downtown

Best Western is a mega-chain of hotels that is universally recognized for its clean and comfortable rooms. They have some pretty decent rates as well, especially for advanced booking of 3-day and 7-day package deals. The basic room rates are $49.99 on weekdays, $69.99 on weekends for a double queen. Add $10 per night for a single king. A 3-day package grants $4-$10 off per night; $7-$12 off per night with a 7-day package. Prices may fluctuate during holidays and peak vacation times. Booking in advance locks in the best prices.
